The Lurline Baths at Bush and Larkin were a popular indoor swimming spot from 1894 till they closed in 1896. The baths were supplied with ocean water by a pier and a pumping plant located near the end of Balboa Street at Ocean Beach. I remember when Playland-at-the-Beach was being torn down in the 1970s seeing a round brick building that I had never known existed. It was the pumping plant for Lurline Baths.From the 20-May-1911 San Francisco Call.
