We Lost -- June 26, 2026

Some people are saying that T***p is the first US President to lose a war. I don't know if that is entirely true. The War of 1812 was a draw. People debate what to call our outcomes in the Korean War, the Vietnam War, IRAQ and Afghanistan I guess he is the first US President to start a war (unprovoked) and lose it. He keeps saying it is over, but it keeps sprouting up. 

Seven Months Under the Heel of T***p -- July 31, 2025

The first seven months of 2025 have been miserable. We have both been sick, either one at a time or both together for the whole summer. We may have had Covid, but didn't test for until it was too late.

The day he was sworn into office, T***p started disgorging a massive number of executive orders dedicated to things like revoking birthright citizenship, removing the US from the World Health Organization, the Paris Climate Accords and wiping out all traces of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. He has made savage attacks against LGBTQ people, especially those who are trans. 

His drunken Secretary of Defense has dismissed women, a general and admiral, who commanded West Point an Annapolis. 

He wants National Parks and Monuments to remove anything from their historical markers which might hurt the feelings of white people. 

ICE is scooping up people with brown skin and deporting many of them to other countries, where they have no connections. There is no due process, and the cowardly ICE goons wear masks and hide their badges or other ids.

The drunken Secretary of Defense participated in a call discussing an upcoming military operation on Signal, which is not allowed for calls with sensitive information; the call included a reporter who got invited by mistake. 

T***p turned the levers of government and access to all its information to Elon Musk and a gang of young people of college age or less.  The so-called Department of Government Efficiency fired thousands of Federal workers, many of whom were veterans. They shut down critical agencies like USAID. They consolidated all the data they could get, probably so they could create a database of citizens. T***p and Musk eventually broke up, but not before they crippled large parts of the government.

Oligarchy and fascism seem to be the goal, as set out in Project 2025.

I've been depressed. Fortunately, the courts have struck down some of his idiocies and people are resisting. On top of all that, T***p is showing signs of growing senility.

Tomorrow is No Kings Day -- June 13, 2025

The Fascists are coopting Flag Day and the celebrations of the 250th birthdays of the US Army, the US Navy and the US Marine Corps.

Alcatraz -- May 6, 2025

T***p has decreed that the Bureau of Prisons should reactivate Alcatraz as a prison. Did he watch a History Channel program about Alcatraz? If he did, he fell asleep before the part where they said the prison was too expensive to maintain and the concrete was crumbling, and the iron was rusting away. 

Does he expect that guards and their families will live on the island again? I don't think I would like to have my family living on the other side of a fence next to a maximum-security prison. Some of my mother's classmates commuted from the island and everyone was worried when the Battle of Alcatraz broke out. 

And then he decreed a 100% tariff on films produced outside of the US, despite the fact that we export three times movies than we import.

Senator Cory Booker -- April 3, 2025

Senator Cory Booker gave the longest speech in the history of the Senate, by speaking for over 25 hours. He didn't use the restroom, eat or drink. He broke the record set by Strom Thurmond, when he tried to filibuster a civil rights act.

Booker spoke against the nihilistic actions of President Elon Musk and his flunky, T***p. He concluded with a tribute to John Lewis. 

I watched some of it Monday night, then Tuesday morning at breakfast, and then all afternoon. I missed the last few minutes, just after 9pm.

I'm With Ukraine -- February 28, 2025

Today I am embarrassed to be an American. President T***p and his lickspittle Vance ganged up on Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy while meeting with him in the Oval Office. On video, they verbally assaulted him. I have never seen our Executive Branch sink so low.

Someone took a shot at convicted felon Donald Trump during one of his Nuremberg rallies and nicked his ear. He is ok, but one innocent bystander has died and two are in critical condition. The shooter is dead. 

Violence is not the way to do politics. I hope convicted felon Donald Trump recovers soon.

Iran launched an unprecedented attack directly on Israel, firing hundreds of ballistic missile, cruise missiles and drones. Israel, with help from the US and other allies knocked down 99% of the weapons. One little girl was injured by fragments from a defensive missile. No one was killed. Almost everyone in the world is calling for restraint.

Former president Donald Judas Trump has been arraigned along with 18 of his lickspittles on RICO charges for interfering in the 2020 election in Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has pursued this case with dedication despite death threats and other forms of interference.

Trump Arrested and Arraigned -- April 4, 2023
