Bay Bridge Opening -- September 2, 2013

Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom cut the ceremonial chain at the Toll Plaza and a line of old and new cars rode across the new eastern span and the old western span of the Bay Bridge.  The bridge should open to the public as soon as Caltrans finishes a final sweep.  The bridge is opening earlier than the planned 5am tomorrow.
