Fats Domino, RIP -- October 26, 2017

Fats Domino has died.  He and his songwriting partner, Dave Bartholomew, wrote many classic R and B songs. Fats stayed in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans until he had to be rescued after Hurricane Katrina.  Then he moved right back. He sure could play the piano.

Allen Toussaint, RIP -- November 12, 2015

I was sad to learn about the passing of Allen Toussaint, great composer, performer and producer from New Orleans.  I remember when he worked with the Meters.  He later produced all sorts of acts.  He did a lot to raise money after Hurricane Katrina.
